We all just want to be loved

There’s this idea that we all just want to be loved. I was thinking about that the last few weeks.  When writers write, we are taught to write using active verbs not passive verbs.  An active character loves. That character takes charge and forges a path for her own destiny.  A passive character is loved. That character is sitting back in a chair watching the day pass by waiting for the world to happen around him.

We may not have control over much of anything in this world, but we do have control over ourselves and our actions.   Wanting the world to come to us, to be loved, to be forgiven, or to be saved isn’t really honoring the gift of life that God has given us.   Taking an active role, experiencing everything that life has to offer, and seeking to love, to forgive, and to save is truly the way that I can honor the gift of life that God has given me.  For me, life isn’t about just sitting on my butt and watching life pass me by, I need to find a way to experience it.  I need to find a way to share it with my brothers and sisters in Christ.  I want to be able to know that I was a participant in my life.  I want to know that I had a part in creating the path of my life, even if it was just in walking on that path.  Life is about being active.  It is about making a choice.

My faith saved me. May God’s peace reside in all of our hearts.
