My husband and I were helped by a lady today as we were shopping. She was bright and shining as she tried her best to seem helpful and courteous. My husband felt like she was being disingenuous because he had seen her before, and she had used almost the exact same words. Maybe he was right. She could have been trying really hard just to get a good rating at her job and she probably didn’t care one bit about us. However, there’s more to the story than that.
I feel people’s energy when I am around them. When I am around most people, unless they have a really strong personality, I don’t really feel too much energy. It’s when I am around many people that I start to feel a lot of energy and it gets to feel overwhelming. Today when I encountered this woman, I felt her energy and whether she was just trying to do a good job or she was a really sweet person, I don’t know, but I do know that she was radiating positive energy.
Disingenuous or not, she had positive intentions and I could feel that about her. More than that, I could see her, and it reminded me to look at all people and know that everyone has the light of God within them. This woman was a great example for me today that even if I can’t be that selfless, giving person who always does the right thing and has the right attitude, as long as I try and have a good attitude, I can still make a difference in the world. It’s never too late to try.
My faith saved me. May God’s peace reside in all of our hearts.
