My husband and I saw a documentary about decluttering and then I bought a book about it. We have started to slowly declutter our house. We are just in the beginning stages, but there’s a concept that has already come through that really surprises me.
The author of the book suggested that when a person declutters their home, they aren’t just throwing away everything in their house; they are getting rid of the clutter so that they can enjoy and appreciate the things that are in their home. I like the concept, but it really didn’t hit home, until last night. My husband and I decided to start with our books. As I started to get rid of the books that I had either already read or the books that I knew I would never read, I came across several books that I had really wanted to read, but they had gotten lost in the clutter. When I got rid of all the extra books, it gave me a chance to put those books in a place where I would be able to appreciate and read them.
Maybe God’s trying to tell me something about decluttering my entire life.
My faith saved me. May God’s peace reside in all of our hearts.
