Many Ways to God

I got a chance to visit Temple Square in Salt Lake City.  It was truly amazing to see some of the sites, especially the Mormon Tabernacle and the construction being done of the Salt Lake Temple.  While I was there, I got to speak to some missionaries at the conference center. It was interesting when they discovered I wasn’t Mormon because they treated me like I didn’t live a Christ-centered life.  They actually used the term “Christ-centered life.”  They also suggested that the book of Mormon could help me to do that.

It struck me how many times Christians or monotheistic religions believe there is only one way to God. However, the more people I meet, the more I realize there are as many ways to God as there are stars in the universe.  Those missionaries have their way to God and I enjoyed talking to them because I could see the light of God within them even if their way to God was different from mine.  What a wonderful world it could be if we could respect each other and see God’s light in each other even those on a different path to God.

My faith saved me.  May God’s peace reside in all of our hearts.
