I was reading about world religions yesterday and today. I read about the major tenets of different faiths, but the one thing I didn’t see was a religion that asserted the idea that all human beings are created by the same Creator. In other words, whatever high power, god, universal power, scientific force created the universe and everything within it, we were all created by the same thing.
It amazes me how we, as human beings, spend so much time trying to find out how we are different from one another when we should be focusing on how we are the same. I realize that we all must come to God in our own way, but however we deal with our creation and our own morality, we all must deal with the fact that we were born and one day we will die. That fact is the same for all of us. There’s nothing that will change it. A king or a peasant, a rich man or a poor man, no difference in race nor religion, all humans are born and all will die.
So, why don’t religions recognize that fact? All humans are equal in the eyes of God. If I am to love my brothers and sisters in Christ as I love myself or even as my God loves me, then it is only right that I should show the same love to them as well. We all share the same earth. We all share the same circumstance of life and death. We should all share the same love for one another.
My faith saved me. May God’s peace reside in all of our hearts.
