Viral Worries

It is really amazing what people have gone through with the pandemic. At one point, some people were wiping down their groceries with sanitizing wipes before they brought them into their house. Today, I saw an add for a laundry sanitizer. Now, I can not only get my clothes clean, I can also get them sanitized from germs as well. Finally, I also heard about the idea of super immunity.

Super immunity is getting all the vaccines and boosters and then going out and getting exposed to Covid. That way the person gets sick and some how develops super immunity to the virus. The only problem is that we still don’t know how a person will react to getting the virus. Even if I have had all the vaccines and boosters, with my underlying health conditions, I still could get a bad case of the viral inflection and still be hospitalized. Considering the spike in hospitalizations in my area, that would be a gamble with my health that I am not willing to take.

It seems so strange that some people don’t want to take any precautions. They don’t want to wear masks or get vaccines or even admit that the virus is real and then there are others who want to swing on the other side of the pendulum and want to take every precaution they can including sanitizing their laundry and taking the chance of getting the virus in the hope of developing super immunity.

For me, I don’t worry too much about it. This virus doesn’t have power over my life; I refuse to give it that power. God has power over my life. I pray for God to keep myself, my family, and my loved ones healthy, but if that isn’t in His plan, then I pray that His will be done. I trust in His plan. I have faith in it and so when all the worries about the virus come up, I just give them up to God knowing that He is with me always. I ask for His peace to be in my heart every day.
