Family Game Night

Yesterday, we had a family game night.  I remember when I was a kid.  The focus was always about winning the game. However, last night, I really didn’t care at all about winning.  It didn’t matter to me at all.  The focus was more about spending time with my family, having fun, laughing and enjoying time with them.

I can’t help thinking about how this relates to life.  It is almost exactly like family game night.   There are so many people who are focused on making their way to Heaven, but that’s like a kid who is just focused on winning the game.  They miss the meaning of family game night.  Then, there are people who realize that we are given this amazing gift of a short time where we get to laugh, have fun, and enjoy time with our brothers and sisters in Christ.  These are the people who are grateful for life and thank God every day for being alive.  They truly understand the meaning of family game night.

My faith saved me.  May God’s peace reside in all of our hearts.
