I’ve been thinking about evil and why it happens. I also have been thinking about acts of incredible kindness, generosity, and love and why they happen as well. I’m starting to see that a person’s ability to have fellowship with their brothers and sisters in Christ has a lot to do with it. When I feel the God of love in my heart, it’s a wonderful feeling, but it isn’t enough to just hold it in my heart. To just hold that love in my heart doesn’t do justice to the miracle of God’s love or to the sacrifice that Jesus made by dying on the cross for me. If I am blessed enough to have that love, then I should share it with my brothers and sister in Christ. When I see incredible acts of kindness, generosity, and love, I think it’s because these people have that love inside of them and they find that whatever love they have inside they have to share it with others. They are the great examples of fellowship.
When I see evil acts, I think these people have lost that spirit of fellowship in their hearts. They may not feel this wonderful connection to the rest of their brothers and sisters and when they feel separate and apart, it allows hate to grow in that space instead.
I think one of the miracles I have found is that love can fill that space even when there’s hate. When we feel separated from the rest of the world, it is possible to get it back. There’s always a chance and it’s never too late. Even when I was at my loneliness and lost in the dark, God was always with me, I just had to ask and He would lead me out of the darkness.
My faith saved me. May God’s peace reside in all of our hearts.
